- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to present dialectology as a specific linguistic discipline, its objectives, with the methods of study of dialects, the way of analyzing the results of researches of dialects and with dictionaries of dialects. Overview of the history of this linguistic discipline - language geography. At the end of the course students will - be able to demonstrate the knowledge of dialectology. - have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of linguistics. - have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of comparative study of Slavonic languages - be familiar with Slavonic grammar - contrast and compare Czech and other Slavonic languages
