- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
- Course objectives
- The content of the seminar is following: - lexical and stylistic exercises (for example synonymy, homonymy, antonymy) – active usage of vocabulary from given conversational topics, - interpretation of the text (that was heard and read) – essays on given topics. The aim of the course is to develop and practise Czech vocabulary and improve students’ knowledge and communications skills.
- Syllabus
- The main attention is paid to improvement and enrichment of students’ vocabulary obtained in CJQ004. Exercises are aimed to practice synonymy, antonym and homonymy. a/ synonymy – words that have similar meaning, intensity, superior concepts, differences in meaning and style, foreign words b/ antonyms – antonyms in words, sentences, differences in meaning c/ homonymy Other subjects will be for example: replacement of one-word constructions by more-words constructions and vice versa, verbs of motion, verbs that express sounds; foreign geographical names and expressions that reflect quantity.

- Assessment methods
- Final written test. Besides the test, the following rules must be observed: 1/ In order to successfully finish the course, student's participation in the course must be at least 75 %. If student's participation drops below 75 %, he will not be allowed to write the final test. 2/ The students fullfils all tasks given by the teacher (homeworks, presentations etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence. 3/ Students must not switch study groups, unless the Head of Department of Czech for Foreigners explicitly approved it.
