- One semester course is designed for students from the the second year of their study (Studies in Chinese Cultures), who acquired basic knowledge of Chinese.

- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will be acquainted and able to analyse Chinese cinema of the second half of the 20th Century. The selection of the course movies follows contemporary developments and trends in film industry, but also focuses on original film adaptations of literary writings.
During individual classes students not only get familiarized with the most prominent Chinese directors and their work, but also should be able to interpret selected literary writings and compare them to film adaptations. Students thus should be able to analyse various political and social changes before and after the Cultural revolution in the People´s Republic of China.

- The course has a form of lectures, with teacher´s explanations. The lectures will be supplemented with clips and examples from literary writings.
