- Course objectives
- Course of practical French language.
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
Student should be able to understand any text from french news paper and a short record from french radio. Grammar and theme analysis of text in french. - Syllabus
- 1. Analysis of the basic grammatical issues (question, negative, tenses, conditional, subjunctive etc.).
- 2. Excercises concerning the given grammatical issues.
- 3. Lexical excercises aimed at the development of vocabulary.
- 4. Basic orientation in a French text and its summarizing.
- 5. Working with texts from French newspaper.
- 6. Speaking in everyday situations.
- 7. Listening.

- Lectures and practice.
Practice consists of:
A) excercises concerning grammatical issues analysed during the lectures, translations;
B) practising basic orientation in a French text. - Assessment methods
- REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CREDIT:
1) active class participation, e. g.:
a) 80% presence the least (the absence has to be documented by the valid letter of excuse)
b) required homework (writtent assessments). In case of absence the assessments can be handed in 7 days after the class the latest (into the marked box at the Department of the Roman languages and literatures, Gorkého 7, ground floor).
2) 2 writtent tests during the semester (+ credit test during the credit week)
Form and content of the tests:
Test 1 : 27.10.2008, Lesson 1-5 + the first half of the list of irregular verbs (see the Study Materials);
Test 2: 8.(15.)12.2008, Lesson 1-10 + the second half of the list of irregular verbs (see the Study Materials).
3) Discussion about the readings. Special emphasis will be put on mastering the vocabulary (50 pages of text or more, the list has to consist of at least 500 lexical units) and the ability of reading and translating the text. - Language of instruction
