Course objectives
Innovative movements within the czech educational system after year 1989 are discussed in the course with special attention to low, policy and social framework. Special attention is paid to innovations at the level of schools and teachers work. The theory of innovation is presented. At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain the innovation processes in schools and education; interpret success or failure of innovative and reform attempts; plan interventions into school and educational reality supporting implementation and spreading of innovations.

  • Innovations in education and reform attempts in Czech education after year 1989. Innovations and reforms in wider social context.
  • Innovations and schools development and school improvement. School as learning organizations. Key areas of school operation and innovations in these areas.
  • Innovations in work of teachers. Personal, pedagogical and cultural level of innovation.
  • Management and support of innovations.
  • Innovative movement and operation of NGOs in school system.
