Course objectives
The lectures will cover the system of derived verb stems of hollow verbs and further syntactic structures important for understanding literary language. Emphasis will be placed on the development of speech and writing skills. Specialized terminology I. Audio visual materials will be used (edited as well as authentic texts taken from Arab media).

Teaching methods
Reading and listening comprehension (filling gap, short answer questions, multiple choice), translation, topical conversation, conversation based on recently discussed grammar rules. E-learning concerning Arab media.
Assessment methods
Written test at the end of the term: reading comprehension (short answer questions), listening comprehension (short answer questions, gap filling), translation. Class attendance is not required during the term but the students are strongly recommended to do so. Passmark – 60%.
