Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce the phenomenon of Czech literary experiment to the students. Students will be familiar with the theory of an experiment in Czech literature, with its leading personalities, creative processes and on the basis of the analysis of experimental work to develop their analytical and interpretive skills. At the same time the current native production will confront with experimental texts of previous years and with foreign literature.

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

- lecture about the forms and development of experiment in Czech literature;
- interpret the experimental texts;
- have an overview of the authors using the experiment as their primary creative method;
- think about interdisciplinary and applying of experiment in other areas of art.

  • Definition of experiment;
  • Introduction of basic procedures, techniques and methods of literary experiment;
  • Inspirational sources of experimental poetry and prose;
  • The beginnings of an experiment in Czech literature and its leading personalities;
  • The contemporary experimental poetry;
  • The contemporary experimental prose;
  • How can I become an experimental writer, or learn to physical poetry.
