- Course objectives
- In the course the students will work on the field research of public and festive events in the defined locations in Moravia and the city of Brno. Students will work in teams. In the beginning of the course public and festive events that play an important role in the life of defined location/community in the second half of the year 2013 will be chosen.

- 1. Choosing of location, events, festivities and/or fest events. 2. Continous research defined festivities, collecting of tha data. 3. Document processing. 4. Writing of the studies on each events.

- Teaching methods
- Students will use the methods of theatre studies and a wider concept of theatre as a “cultural model” (E. Fischer-Lichte) that works with terms and aspects as show, actor, reception, participation, role, scene, mask, costume, repertoire, scenario or arrangement. This method will be supported by qualitative methods of ethno-methodology that rise from the work by E. Goffmann The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, and oral history (interviews with participants).
