- Course objectives
- Modern stylistics is considered to be a discipline dedicated to the choice of means adequate for the given speech act, and these means form a structured whole. One of the aims of the lecture is to present to the students basic notions in stylistics, its means and methodes.
- Syllabus
- General questions of style and stylistic principles of communication theory, translation as an indirect communication, language and text. Comparative Stylistics of French and Czech languages (at different levels of analysis of text and grammatical categories). Methods and translation in relation to "hierarchical levels superiors to the text" - François Rastier, problems of translation into non-relative languages.

- Teaching methods
- Introduction of basic stylistic concepts, tools and practices in French and Czech is one of the objectives of this lecture. Attention will be given to individual functional styles.
