- Course objectives
- The course deals with the theories of relationship of nationalism and religion. The theories are applied to selected examples in the history of modern Japan.
• At the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of selected theories of nationalism and religion; review selected theories of the relationship of religion and nationalism; interpret the characteristics of the theories; apply the theories to the examples from the history of modern Japan. - Syllabus
- 0. Introduction to the course; • 1. – 11. Selected theories and concepts of the relationship of religion and nationalism, application to the examples from the history of modern Japan; • 12. Final discussion, review.
