Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: interpret selected works of Czech literature from the 19th century, understand their motivic composition and their meanings in the period literary context.
Syllabus
  • The lecture will be devoted to the interpretation of selected works of Czech literature in the 19th century in which love is represented in various forms (between lovers, husband and wife, mother and children, siblings). We will be interested in the way of literary grip of the topic in the context of period literary discourse. The works of world literature relating to the interpreted works will be also considered.
