Prerequisites
Only basic study skills are needed: interest in the topic, activity in discussions and systematic preparation. It it not needed to know the book before the seminar but it is demanded to read it during the semester between the lectures. Student have to read between each lecture circa 25 pages long sections of the book. The course is open to students of all degrees.

Course objectives
At the and of the course, students will know the Ästhetik des Performativen (english title The Transformative Power of Performance: A New Aesthetics) in detail, therefore they will be able to: -understand and explain the concept of performative aesthetics of Erika Fischer Lichte, - critically analyze the construction of this concept and also understand its possibilities and limits, - apply the concept of performative aesthetics in performance analysis.
