Course objectives
The aim of the course is to apply the acquired knowledge of the Classical Greek normative grammar to the reading of the Ancient Greek text (Aristoteles's De re poetica) prescribed for translation. At the end of the course, students will be able to make the grammatical analysis, translate and interpret Aristoteles's De re poetica on a high level.

  • Grammatical analysis, translation and interpretation of the Aristoteles's text. Analysis of the problematic places in Aristoteles's De re poetica.

Teaching methods
The course is not being taught in the standard form, but through the consultations during which the students solve the actual problems and answer questions concerning the text prescribed for translation.

Oral examination - credit (students have to prove their ability to analyze and interpret a part of the text prescribed for translation).
