Course objectives
The aim of this course is to acquaint future teachers of English with some aspects of using computers in ELT. This includes learning how to use software to create learning activities, how to upload them to the web, to use and assess some of the very wide range of web tools and resources already in existence for language teaching, and also to work with some web-based linguistic tools that serve us in lesson preparation, in the classroom and in correcting student work. As quite a few skills are taught during the semester, students will be expected to practise between lessons and produce real language learning resources.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
As this is a practical course in which skills are acquired, full attendance is expected. Final grading of the course is based essentially on the quality of teaching resources produced using the tools taught ensuring that they demonstrate sound pedagogical bases. More details will be available during the course.
