- At the end of this course the student will be able to:
Describe the application of research in various fields of education;
Implement research for the evaluation of trainer / teacher, student and the effectiveness of an educational project in various forms;
Use of software and online tools to research the effectiveness of the educational project and individual educational student activities;
Recognize the risks of research education and to take steps to reduce them;
Visualize and interpret research findings - Syllabus
- 1. Definitions (evaluation, assessment, LA, EDM), application of research in education, importance of the course content
- 2. Evaluation of the education system: teacher, student, school, system, incl. science and research evaluation
- 3. Models of measuring the effectiveness of educational projects: a focus on the most used Kirkpatrick model and differences in traditional and electronic learning; basic types of research in education: Training Needs Analysis (before), action (during) and evaluation (after) research; qualitative and quantitative methods
- 4. Measurement of reactions: questionnaires (eg. questionnaire of the first impression), content analysis, creative techniques (eg. through visual art activities or associations); tools for research in education: Student Assessment of Learning Gains, Student Opinion Survey of the Learning Process, Learning Effectiveness Survey ...
- 5. Measurement of education: knowledge tests (pretest / posttest, control group, time delay...), assessing according to the model situations, self-evaluation methods
- 6. Measurement of behavior: interviews, observations (structured evaluation of employee activities, mystery techniques, development centers), 360-degree feedback (or 180-degree feedback), action plans and real challenges for education
