- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to recognize the selected media genres and their characteristic features; based on acquired knowledge will be able to assess the stylistic and semantic aspects of these texts and then reveal persuasion, rhetoric and cliches that are part of everyday media messages; thanks to the practical focus of this course will be able to create a text suitable for publication in various types of media, which can increase their employability.
- Syllabus
- Introduction - journalistic and artistic texts, the differences between them, basic characteristics, specifics publishing in print, audiovisual and electronic media. News - objectives, methods, genres, construction report - its typical components, creating headline, subheads, Perex, information saturation, the core of testimony, etc. More news genres (news interview, news report, paper) - the form and manner of use, analysis of real texts + design your own text. Journalism - objectives, methods, genres and their characteristics, current affairs interview. Other journalistic genres - post, comment, comment, essay, story and feature - theoretical and practical introduction, analysis of selected texts, creation of own text. The lyrics on the border between journalism and literary works (artistic genres related to the topic) - their history, characteristics, examples, analysis (soudnička, essay, column ...). Criticism and review as a specific genre (history, construction, use), analysis of specific texts and their own creation. Selected aspects of media messages - the issue of ethics, persuasive means in the media narrative in reporting procedures, etc. Reflection of texts students created during the course.
