Course objectives
Histoire de la littérature belge de 1830 jusqu'à 1945. Parcours chronologique par auteurs et courants: explications des contextes historiques et esthétiques suivies de lectures d'extraits courts: analyse et mise en relation avec les aspects stylistiques propres à chaque auteur ou courant. -La naissance de la littérature belge -Charles De Coster -Camille Lemmonier -Le symbolisme (Maurice Maeterlinck et George Rodenbach) -Le surréalisme (Paul Nougé) -Le fantastique (Jean Ray, Franz Hellens) -Les femmes écrivains (Madeleine Bourdouxhe, Marie Gevers) -Michel de Ghelderode

Lecture: description of the literary field, explanation and definition of basic notions and their demonstration on concrete texts by concrete authors.
