Kurz je primárně určen pro studenty navazujícího magisterského studia religionistiky, žádoucí je nicméně i zapojení talentovaných bakalářských studentů. Počet účastníků kurzu je z kapacitních a technických důvodů omezen na maximálně 5-6 studentů. K zápisu je vyžadován souhlas vyučujícího.

Course objectives
The course creates conditions for tutorial leading of talented BA and MA students by an educational team consisting from a teacher and a doctoral student. Enrolled students are preparing an individual research project focusing on a chosen topic, which is supported on the step-by-step bases by an educational team; the individual steps include formulation of a research problem, choosing an appropriate methodology, writing-up phase and final proof-reading. The final version of the study is presented and defended at a final seminar.
After the completion of this course student will:
- be able to formulate a research problem
- be able to find appropriate methods for particular research questions
- be able to compose an academic text in a form of a journal article
- be able to present an academic paper and defend his/her conclusions in a discussion
Syllabus
  • 1. Introductory meeting (information on the organization of the course, conditions of completion etc.); 2. Presentation of chosen research topics and outlines of intended studies; 3. Individual work in educational teams; 4. Individual work in educational teams; 5. Seminar discussion and report on the current state of work (shifts in topics, problems etc.); 6. Individual work in educational teams; 7. Submission of the first drafts; 8. Feeback to the first drafts; 9. Individual work in educational teams; 10. Individual work in educational teams; 11. Submission of final versions of the studies; 12. Presentation of the studies in a form of a conference paper + discussion.
Teaching methods
The course consists of 1) seminars for all members of the educational teams; and 2) individual work of educational teams focusing on chose topics.
Assessment methods
Conditions for the successful completion of the course:
- attendance on joint seminars (20%)
- submission of a final version of a studie in a form of a journal article (20-25 pages– 36 000 – 45 000 characters including spaces) (50%)
- Presentation of the study in a form of a conference paper and defense of its conclusion in a discussion (30%)
