Course objectives (in Czech)
The course „Czech Medieval Sources“ is focused on the reading and interpretation of the most important historical and literary sources of the Bohemian origin. The high attention will be devoted to the oldest manuscript fragments and charters in Bohemia and Moravia, to the sources for medieval ecclesiastical administration in Czech lands and to the sources for old bohemian land law.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • nejstarší latinské rukopisné zlomky;
  • svatováclavské legendy;
  • Kosmova kronika;
  • memoriální zápisy a kalendária;
  • listiny a pečeti přemyslovské éry;
  • nejstarší úřední knihy;
  • Součástí výuky bude: četba a interpretace všech relevantních typů středověkých pramenů úřední i literární provenience, překlad čtených textů do AJ, typologie a ikonografický rozbor pečetních obrazů, převody dat středověkých pramenů do dnešního systému.
