- Course objectives
- Writing history – Reading seminar on German methodological literature for historians and archivists (max. 20 people). The aim is to gain insight into the ideational world of some of the leading historians and archivists in the German–speaking countries of the 19th and 20th centuries, and to get an idea of the social, ideological and temporal background that shaped their thinking. The course is centred on leading historians and sociologists such as Leopold von Ranke, František Palacký, Max Weber, Otto Brunner, Ahasver von Brandt, František Graus, Reinhardt Koselleck and Arnold Esch. The students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with academic terminology and discuss the main thoughts of each theoretician with interested students. The seminar is aimed at advanced students.

- The final objective is to write an essay in Germany of 2 to 4 pages, which is based on one of the methodological texts used in the seminar, as well as active participation and short presentations during the lessons.
