- Course objectives
- The series of screenings of various theatre- related documentaries and productions want to introduce students to the work of Czech and international theatre makers and (their) practice. Dramatic authors, works and directors, that are described and taught in classes, often remain only a name, an abstract term. The subject aims to encourage students’ interest to encounter actual theatrical works and productions, to connect theoretical knowledge with one’s own reception and experience, and to eventually cultivate the ability of stating one’s opinion and discuss it on an academic level.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course the students will be able to:
• formulate their opinion and argue for it in a discussion
• apply theoretical knowledge on their own spectator experience
• confront theoretical knowledge with practical theatre
• think about theatre performance in broader cultural and socio-political context - Syllabus
