- Knowledge of English and German. Basic overview of the European historiography in the 19th and 20th centuries.

- Course objectives
- The course aims to the crucial moments of the European historiography of the 20th c. in the connection with the history of early modern period. Using the historiographical, methodological as well as material texts the students shall be able to think about and discuss the main trends and changes in the modern European historical thinking. The basic problems of terminology are also under consideration.

Gender history. VII. Secularization. VIII. Culture: diffusion and power. IX. Foucault: punishment and biopolitics. X. History and history of art.
