Course objectives
1. Students will have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of the cultures of the Chinese world. 2. Students will have developed new insights into the nature of language and culture that will allow them to establish comparisons not only between languages, but also between the Chinese cultures and their own.

Teaching methods
The course is taught by a native speaker who combines various methods of teaching – cultural comparison, class discussion, conversations and oral presentations.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Evaluation Method 1) Attendance : 30% 1 unexcused absence allowed during the semester. 2) Discussion: 20% Before every class, students should watch the clip video (please go to IS/ Study Material). We will talk about the clip video in the class. Besides, students should participate in class discussion aggressively. 3) Assignment 25% Pretend you are a job seeker; select a job and write a resume and autobiography in Chinese then sent it to the teacher. * If you are absent on the class when your assignment should be handed in, the deadline of your assignment will be postponed to next class spontaneously. 4) Presentation: 25% The presentation should be in cultural comparison way. You can choose the cultural point from this semester or anything you believe that is interesting and worth to share. You should use Chinese when you give the presentation. The length of presentation should be in 5 minutes. 5) Class activity 10%（bonus） In this course, we will have a mock interview. Students who volunteer to be the candidate (2 3) can get the bonus points. The candidates should modify the resume and autobiography before the interview. Besides, the interviewer will give you feedback. This experience will help you in the future.
