Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present the current state of Social Pedagogy as one of pedagogical disciplines and to offer basic orientation in various topics Social Pedagogy deals with. First, students are introduced in the establishment of Social Pedagogy in a historical survey and its focus and research objective. Then, students are introduced in the issues of social behaviour (including social deviations) and prevention of social deviations and socially pathological phenomena. Discussions about selected topics connected with possibilities of the influence of social environment are crucial to the course. The course should lead to presenting possible approaches to solutions of social problems from the point of view of engaged education. Students are able to specify the subject of Social Pedagogy upon completion of the course.
