- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is a practical knowledge of elementary Russian (pronunciation, orthography, elementary grammar), the ability to take part in conversation on given topics and the ability to understand simple Russian texts.
- Learning outcomes
- Having participated in the course, students will be able:
- to read a simple Russian text;
- to write a simple Russian text;
- to understand a simple Russian text;
- to have a conversation on elementary topics (greetings, addressing, introducing, polite phrases, family, profession);
- to introduce in oral and written forms themselves, their families, field of study, interests. - Syllabus
- Students will acquire elementary linguistically orientated knowledge about Russian. Attention will be paid to basic features of Russian phonology and morphology, to active knowledge of elementary grammar and vocabulary (greetings, addressing, polite phrases, family, jobs) and reading + writing in the Russian alphabet. At the end of the course the students should also be able to understand simple texts.

- Teaching methods
- The course is focused on basic practical knowledge of language, especially with regard to pronunciation, orthography and elementary grammar. The stress is also on the development of students’ practical skills in communication.

- Fulfilling requirements: active participation in seminars, attendance required. The course is completed with a written credit test.
