- Course objectives
- The course presents history of Czech nonfiction and documentary cinema. At the end of the course students should be able to understand key genres of nonfiction and documentary film; distinguish its functions in different historical periods; explain work of important film-makers.
- Learning outcomes
- After finishing this course, students will:
gain basic knowledge of Czech documentary cinema history before the half of 1950s;
understand the significance of pre-war and post-war local cinema in broader social context;
understand Czech documentary cinema as a complex social phenomenon, not only as a sequence of aesthetically exceptional films;
understand relationship between production, distribution and film introduction;
broaden their existing knwoledge with less-featured films. - Syllabus

- Establishment of Krátký film, after-war period.
