- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand any speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc;
understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday or job-related language;
deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken;
deal with unprepared conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events);
present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to my field of interest;
explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options; - Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: - understand any speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc - deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken - deal with unprepared conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life - identify a moderate number of character components and high-frequency characters in areas of immediate need - identify key facts and some details in descriptive material on daily life

- The course KSCA651 Praktická čínština pro magisterské studium I is taught according the All Things Considered textbook, lessons 1-10, following the order of the textbook's lessons.

2 unexcused absences are allowed.
4 absences may result in a failure in the course.
3 late arrivals (longer than 15 minutes after the class starts) may be counted as 1 absence.
Inadequate preparation of the class (including quizzes and review) would be taken as absence.
In case of illness or other extenuating circumstances, the student must present documented evidence of inability to attend classes to the class instructor. However, in such cases the student is responsible for all work missed during those absences.
Those who may need a recommendation letter for scholarship application have to:
1. finish all the required homework.
2. reach 80 or above of all the quizzes during the semester. - Language of instruction
