- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of Modern Greek and to develop the vocabulary and communicative competence (level A2 CEFR).
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. employment);
- communicate in the common situations of everyday life;
- understand simple texts focused on given topics and translate them into czech and vice versa;
- explain and apply grammar discussed in seminars. - Syllabus
- Grammar: Ellinika Tora 1+1, lessons 14-16, Ellinika 2+2 lessons 1,2: irregular nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verbs passive, aorist of irregular verbs, future tense of irregular verbs.
- Topics: social intercourse, employment, food, weather.
- Orthography practice.
- Translation into Czech and Modern Greek.
- Reading of simple texts.

- The course has a form of a seminar and lectures. Homework is required during semester – students prepare assigned grammatical exercises and short translations from Modern Greek into Czech and vice versa.

- Homework is required during semester – students prepare assigned grammatical exercises and translations from Modern Greek into Czech and vice versa, essays on given topics. Requirements for obtaining the credit: passing a written test (min. 70 %).
