Course objectives
Students knows and can differentiate the possibilities of leading guidance process in the field vocational guidance according to the types of target groups of clients. Regarding counseling skills the course is aimed at: -strengthening communication skills (active listening, asking questions, dealing with client resistance), - identifying clients' needs, - providing information face-to-face and by ICT, - ability to offer and mediate appropriate services to clients in a way that holistic client approach is applied, - reflect own competencies, - limits and ethical aspects of counseling work.

  • Students are introduced in theories of career decision making and possibilities of leading guidance process according to the types of target groups of clients. Course outline: 1. History and present of vocational guidance 2. Theories of vocational choice and career development 3. Labour market, employment, unemployment 4. Diagnostics of vocational guidance process 5. Career information 6. Career guidance for children, unemployed adults
