- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present a systematic overview of psychological assessment methods and briefly mention the principles of their construction and psychometric properties. The aim is to provide students with instruments to explore and reveal human mind.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be oriented in psychodiagnostic methods, their purpose, basic psychometric characteristics, conditions of use and principles of ethics in working with psychodiagnostic methods. Students will be able to identify the main diagnostic categories and choose a diagnostic diagnostic battery.
- Syllabus
- Issues and topics: • Methodological principles of psychological assessment of adults, • Brief overview of history of development and use of methods, ethical principles of using the methods, • Clinical methods (observation, interview, case history), • Test methods, the principle and classification, • Mental ability tests (simple) , • Tests of specific abilities, tests of art abilities, didactic tests, • Tests of memory and creativity, • Unidimensional questionnaires and inventories, • Multidimensional questionnaires and inventories, • Rating scales, the principle, overview, classification, • Subjective rating scales, • Objective rating scales, • Computer-assisted psychological assessment, • Writing a report.
