Course objectives
This course introduces research in social sciences - with emphasis on both philosophy of science and organization of research and work with sources and data. The students will learn about the differences among diverse types of academic papers, their structure and general research logics. In the third part of this course, the students will also learn about several qualitative and quantitative methods which can be used for research on (1) publics and (2) media contents. There will be also discussed key concepts, issues and risks that the students can face in their research.

Assessment methods
Three summaries of selected papers (10 points each) and final written test (70 points). Students need to get min. 60 points to pass.
