- Course objectives
- This introductory course is for the students who begin to study musicology. It introduces them to the basic scientific terminology (definitions, classification of science, Kuhns theory of scientific paradigms) as well as to the specific musicological problems (classification of musicological disciplines, historical and systematic musicology etc.). The students also learn about the history of musicology ( the cognitive reflexion before the beginning of modern musicology, short history of musicological disciplines etc.) and the main research schools (Czech lands, other countries). Special interest is paid to the works of Czech musicologists.
