Course objectives
Detailed overview of historical geography of Ancient Greece (including western coast of Asia Minor, and islands of Crete, Rhodes and Cyprus).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able:
- to gain full insight into historical geography of the core of the ancient Greek world in Archaic and Classic period of the Greek history;
- to correlate knowledge thus obtained with alreadz known historical context;
- to gain overview about main political and cultural centres of the Greek world, about their appearance and material culture, etc.;
- to locate and identify the most important historical and cultural landmarks and monuments in Greece.

  • 6. North-western Greece.
  • 7. Thessaly.
  • 8. Macedonia.

  • 10. Sporades, Cyclades and Dodecanese.
  • 11. Crete and Rhodes.
  • 12. Cyprus.
