Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to apply the knowledge acquired when reading unknown texts in Chinese; the emphasis will be put on understanding of sentence structure, gradual building of students' vocabulary, and learning traditional forms of characters.

Teaching methods
The course will be taught online (distance learning). - students' home preparation includes: acquiring of new vocabulary, preparation for the text translation - the course has a seminar layout: reading and transaltion of the text, explanation of new grammar, interpretation of cultural realia in the texts, the check of students' home preparation
Assessment methods
Course completion is conditioned with regular attendance (max. 2 skipped classes tolerated), home preparation, active participation, and the passing of a final text.
Evaluation: regular testing of new vocabulary (min.60%), or of new grammar; reading comprehension questions during the class.
