Course objectives
The course gives an overview of the history of Western Europe during the High and Late Middle Ages. The aim of the course is to map the chosen problems, such as “melioratio terrae”, heresies etc. In the seminars students will become familiar with sources, which will be discussed during each session, and with the fundamental literature for the individual issues. Selected books will be the subject of final essays.

The mark is given on the base of class attendance (at least 75%), class-in presentation on a chosen subject, and a review of a chosen book on the history of the High and Late Middle Ages.
