- Course objectives
- Language practice is conceived as a systematic training in practical knowledge of language which is intended to create complex language pre-requisitions and speech skills necessary for a full-fledged communication in Russian on common topics of everyday life. Part of the exercises is an intensive training of grammatical forms according to parts of speech and their correct use in both minimal and wider speech contexts.
- Learning outcomes
- After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to use necessary vocabulary;
- to work with an authentic text in Russian language;
- to correctly react in various communicational situations;
- to express his own opinion on certain communicational situation;
- to explain difficult grammar phenomena in comparison to Czech. - Syllabus

- 1. Choice of Profession. Educational System in Russia.
- 2. Health and Illness. Expressing Time.
- 3. In the Hotel. Accommodation. Expressing of Date.
- 4. Internet. The Role Computers in the Modern World.
- 5. The Household and Care of It.
- 6. Weather.
- Grammar:
- 1. Numerals (cardinal, ordinal, collective, multiple, indefinite).
- 2. Present Time of Verbs. Verbs of the I. and the II. conjugation. Verbs with the consonant change in stem.

- Teaching methods
- Two two-hour lectures a week, seminar activities led by the teacher combined with individual and group work of students.
- Assessment methods
- The credit is based on written work (only in case of proximate/traditional learning) in a form of translation from Czech into Russian. The length of translation is 80 sentences that include discussed conversational topics and grammar forms.
For successful passing the student can’t exceed the allowed number of penalty points.
The student must attend the course (80% attendance) and complete assigned tasks during the semester. - Language of instruction
