Course objectives
The lecture offers an introduction to theoretical phonology.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student is able to:
- classify sounds and use IPA
- describe distinctions between structuralist a generative approaches to phonological structure;
- use theoretical tools to describe language material;
- formally capture phonological information.
Syllabus
  • 1. Fonologie a fonetika
  • - inventář hlásek vs. fonotaktika, hledání opakujících se vzorců, typologie
  • - transkripce hlásek, IPA
  • - fonetika: akustické a artikulační charakteristiky hlásek
  • - fonologie: jazykové funkce hlásek, foném - alofon, minimální páry, kontrast, distribuce
  • 2. Inventář hlásek
  • - vokalické invetáře
  • - konsonantické inventáře
  • - zachycení systematických vztahů: dekompozice pomocí rysů, definice přirozených tříd
  • 3. Fonotaktika
