This course is designed mainly for students who are planning to go on study stay to Spain or Latin America. The basic entrance knowledge is A2 according to CEFR.

Course objectives
This course aims at the practice of both academic and practical language skills connected to a study stay abroad. During this course students will practise all language skills (listening, reading comprehension, oral and written expression). Authentic audiovisual material and authentic texts are used.By the end of the course students should reach B1 level according to CEFR.
Learning outcomes
At the completion of the course, the student is able to do the following at a level of at least B1+ (CEFR): - speak spontaneously and comprehensibly in the context of the class (e.g. discussions, expressing one's own ideas, paraphrasing and summarizing others' ideas, including those that are in person, recordings and texts). - practise filling in application forms for study abroad. - apply the principles of writing a motivation letter presented in the course and write a motivation letter for study abroad and a formal e-mail in the university context. - compare, contrast and evaluate different cultures. - manage practical topics (e.g. travelling, accommodation and medical aid). - demonstrate understanding of spoken language in the context of discussions, presentations, and recordings. - interpret and summarize Spanish texts from online newspapers.

Class exercises. Active class participation is obligatory (70% attendance), final work - CV, cover letter, glossary.

Teacher's information
Tuition is synchronous, taking place online, regularly, every week, according to the valid timetable for the semester using the application MS Teams or ZOOM. Students must have basic equipment – a computer or tablet, internet connection, a camera and a microphone. Students will receive an email with instructions and an appropriate links before the start of the course.
