- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to understand the possibilities of working with information using the tools that have been created thanks to the Internet.
The course aims in concepts such as free software and open source, publishing platforms, information architecture, web security, data mining, data, web 2.0, etc.
The Internet creates a huge space for collaboration and communication: there are convenient tools for common tasks with the extensive web services (provided by companies such as Alphabet, Facebook, Basecamp, List, etc.). The course offers a view of tools that are often significantly simpler and serve more specific purposes. For information professionals, however, they can often be invaluable tools (such as automation, information gathering, Internet publishing, background preparation, market analyzes, etc.). - Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Identify and summarize the important features of the major periods in the history of the Internet;
- identify and describe current domestic and international trends;
