- Course objectives (in Czech)
- The goal of this course is for students to begin to develop a critical understanding of the role of movies and literature in China’s modern culture. The course looks at issues of the relationship of media to China’s ethnic minorities by examining selected films in order to analyze China’s minority film genre since the 1980s.
- Learning outcomes (in Czech)
- After completing the course, the students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the various aspects of China’s representation of its ethnic groups as well as of the “minority film genre”.
- Syllabus
- Class starts on Monday, September 20, 2021.
- Teaching methods (in Czech)
- The first class on September 20, 2021 will be held face to face in the seminar room. The course is conducted in the form of lectures and class discussions based on selected texts, films, etc. Readings text will be made available on the pages of this course
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Besides active participation in class (such as involvement in discussions as well as submission of written homework), presentation of a selected topic, and in the end of the term a finally essay has to be submitted.
