Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to offer different insights (angle of view of not only literary history, anthropology and social studies) into the evolution and interpretation of Brazilian literature and nation. Seminars are oriented to comment and to analyses of selected texts and to argue about it. Individual reading and thinking of participants is fundamental.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course students should be able: 1. to interpret a literary text as a semantic structure, to apply various historical and contemporary methods of literary analysis to specific texts and to conduct an informed literary debate; 2. to comment and interpret literary, cultural and historical aspects, tendencies and events related to the Brazilian cultural area in a literary text; 3. produce written and spoken texts at a level appropriate to the competences of B2-C2 CEFR, in a variety of areas relating to the Portuguese language and literature;
