- - The course is designed for students who have successfully completed courses recommended for the first year of TIM study, especially Introduction to Interactive Media studies I and II.
- It is recommended to enrol into The Best of New Media Art I seminar at the same time.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the new media art as a specific area of modern and postmodern art, situated at the intersection of computer technology and technical media trajectories of development. The new media art will be presented in the historical perspective, from the point of view of its main forms (media), related concepts, aesthetics, and poetics.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, student will be able to:
- Define new media art;
- Describe relations between historical avant-guard art and new media art;
- Identify and characterise periods of new media art development;
- Distinguish different kinds of new media art, to determine their location on the timeline of new media art, and to assign the most important authors and works to them;
