- Course objectives
- - Acquisition of basic information in linguistic didactics - Understanding of main tendencies in TFL with regard to the specifics of French.
- Syllabus
- Definition of terms, main tendencies, goals of education, didactic and methodic principles of TFL, the role of the teacherand the autonomy of the student. Main attention is given to the linguistic means and training speech abilities, communicative competence and the general structure of a language class.

- Teaching methods
- The classwork has the form of a lecture: introduction to the development of various methods, definition of basic terms in linguistic didactics in combination with concrete examples of activities relative to basic oral capabilities, while working with texts in a foreign language. By working out a "fiche pédagogique" of a French textbook and by its presentation, the student shows her/his capabilities to link the theory with practical skills.

- Presentation of an analysis of a French language book. Credit - analysis of a french scholarly publication in linguistic didactics.
