Cíle předmětu
The course focuses on current topics in the research of selected Asian literatures of the pre-modern period, oral literary forms, modern national literatures and literary works of authors of Asian origin living outside of Asia.
The course objective is to inspire students to new, alternative and critical approaches to literary heritage and contemporary literary work.
The content of the course will be different in each semester when it is open, therefore it is possible to repeat the course.
Výstupy z učení
After completing the course, a student will be:
- able to orientate himself in selected chapters of Mongolian, Vietnamese and Korean literatures;
- able to identify and describe some of trends in the current scholarship of selected Asian literatures;
- able to understand historical and cultural context of selected literary genres of Asian literatures;
- inspired to own informed reading within the relevant national literature, the field of which s/he studies.

  • Přednášky budou nabízeny spolupracujícím pracovištím na FF UK a FF UP v rámci spolupráce v programu podpory strategických jazyků.
  • The lectures will be offered also to collaborating departments at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University and Faculty of Arts, Palacký University.

online course (or blended - lecturers from MU can teach with the participation of some students with full synchronous online transmission and active online participation of other participants)
Metody hodnocení
To obtain a positive evaluation of the colloquium, it is necessary to meet one of the following requirements:
A.) active participation in at least 4 single lectures of the series (attendance list in classroom, or namely participance in synchronic online version throughout the whole lecture),
B.) in case of attendance to less than 4 lectures, a short (2 full standard pages) essay typically about one literary work from one the related literary traditions (Mongolia/Vietnam/Korea) can be sent to Ondřej Srba (ondrejsrba@phil.muni.cz) and/or Michal Schwarz (schwarz@phil.muni.cz) until 1. 2. 2022 at the latest.
