- Course objectives
- The course provides a basic overview of the perception of Western civilization in China up to the present. Upon completion of the course, students will have an overview of the issues surrounding China's changing attitude toward the West.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course the student will be able to:
understand and explain the basic facts about the reception of Western civilization in the history of Chinese culture;
create a spoken or written presentation on a selected topic in the history of China's relations with the West;
interpret key passages from relevant sources in the context of the course topic - Syllabus
