- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical knowledge and skills for teaching history at secondary school. Based on the acquired knowledge, to manage the interpretation of secondary-school material and its transfer to the students, to manage specific demands connected with the subject in the area of verifying knowledge, alternative instructional methods, extracurricular activities, etc.
- Learning outcomes
- The graduate is able to teach history at secondary school using modern didactic methods; has the knowledge and skills that enable him/her to manage the learning process and respond to the specific needs of students; can define the successive goals of the pedagogical process.
- Syllabus
- 1. Interdisciplinary ties of the instruction of history.
- 2. Didactic media (textual, literary and educational literatures, material sources, oral history etc.).
- 3. Special approaches, the seminar style of work, project teaching.
- 4. Stereotypes in the instruction of history.
- 5. The European and regional dimensions in the instruction of history.
- 6. Specifics of the verification of knowledge and assessment of students in the instruction of history.
- 7. Instructional and educational roles of the teacher in class hours of history, practical responsibilities of a secondary-school teacher.
