- Course objectives
- If we would like to understand history of the world cinema after WWII, we should study Italian cinema, especially neorealism and the auteurs emerged from this movement. That is why we offer the course focused on Italian cinema (after the panoramic course FAVBPa070 taught last spring). We will follow the book of BRUNETTA, Gian Piero (1993): Storia del cinema italiano I-IV. 2a edizione, Roma: Editori Riuniti. This work reflect not only films and auteurs but the context of production, distribution, policies, economy and institutions.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of this course, the student will have a general knowledge of the history of Italian cinema and its key auteurs. The student will understand interfaces between Italian politics and culture, including left wing of Italian filmmakers.
