Course objectives
Morphology is that part of grammar which treats of the parts of speech and their inflexion. The aim of the course is to make participants acquainted with the verb morphology and enable the practical handling of this issue.
Learning outcomes
By completing the course the student will acquire sufficient theoretical bases to master the analysis of verbal classes and system of verbal categories.
Syllabus
  • The relation of morphology to other parts of grammar and the criteria to the classification of words according to their morphological, syntactic and semantic characteristics. Parts of speech: verbs, types of verbs, morphology of lexical auxiliary verbs: regular and irregular verbs.

Teaching methods
Lecture and seminar. The seminar is based on methods of presentation, analysis and synthesis of knowledge. It also uses collective work, in-class discussions and individual work of students.
