- The course is for students of different language levels, the work consists in the analysis of scholar texts and individual assignments are given according to the respective level.

- Course objectives
- This course is aimed at the enrichment of the German artistic vocabulary. The goal is to expand language skills of the student to capture keywords in the German specialized articles or books and understand the text and its structure.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- oriented himself in a German-written scientific text;
- with the help of the dictionary, the student will be able to understand such a text; - Syllabus
- Reading, lexical analysis, and translation of German art-historical texts will be the main activities of the class. Lexical areas: 1) selected epochs in art history 2) types of work: painting, sculpture, architecture, etc. 3) portraiture and other genres in art, 4) art techniques and materials, 5) subjects of paintings, 6) description of a work of art, 7) presentation of an artist, 8) how to describe an exhibition in German, 9) important figures, groups and movements in German art.

- Teaching methods
- Basic description of artistic terms, genres and iconography in Italian language. Students have the opportunity to be actively involved in the class activities by reading articles and texts on art history and artworks.
- Assessment methods
- Basic analysis of a German technical text, comprehension check: oral/written. More advanced students: presentation to the group on a selected/assigned professional topic. Assessment at two levels: beginners x advanced. Attendance at the course is compulsory.
