Course objectives
In the state examination, the student has to demonstrate and discuss the assigned professional issue in a refined manner, respond in discussion and argue substantively, and be able to evaluate theoretical approaches in the field. He/she should be able to apply knowledge of the field and its methodological equipment, including the ability to implement various skills related to ethnology.
Learning outcomes
The state doctoral examination consists of the defence of the dissertation and the student's answers to questions from the broader thematic areas (1. methodology of the field; 2. historiography of the field; 3. realities of historical forms of traditional culture, its contemporary forms and the issues of ethnic processes and identities). The state examination verifies the student's ability to participate in the professional debate within the current disciplinary discourse and his/her potential to orient himself/herself in the theoretical and methodological concepts applied in the field and the realities addressed by ethnology.
